Located in the heart of Iglesias’s historic center, along the Santa Barbara Trail, Ristorante Gazebo Il Medioevale is housed in an ancient 13th-century building that still retains its original walls. We have been a family-run establishment for 35 years, welcoming guests daily with cuisine rooted in Sardinian tradition and culinary culture.
Our menu features both seafood and land-based dishes, prepared using fresh, carefully selected ingredients. Our cooking follows the seasons, highlighting traditional Sardinian ingredients and recipes while maintaining a simple, authentic approach. Signature dishes include spaghetti with clams, samphire, and bottarga—combining some of the island's most characteristic flavors—and *culurgiones*, a traditional fresh Sardinian pasta prepared according to time-honored methods.
We also offer a variety of fish and seafood dishes, with preparations that vary based on product availability and seasonality. Options include octopus with potatoes, sweet-and-sour cuttlefish, clams with samphire and bottarga, and roasted squid. Our land-based dishes feature regional recipes and carefully selected ingredients, always with a focus on quality and freshness.
Our menu evolves throughout the year to reflect seasonal produce and availability. Alongside traditional dishes, we offer creations born from our 35 years of experience, while always staying true to the flavors and ingredients of Sardinian cuisine.
Open for both lunch and dinner, the restaurant serves as a welcome stop for those hiking the Santa Barbara Trail. After a day of walking, pilgrims can pause in Iglesias’s historic center to sit down and choose from a variety of seafood and land-based dishes. Our business began—and continues—as a family-run establishment, where customer care and meticulous attention to food preparation are part of our daily routine. Over the past 35 years, we have welcomed generations of customers, maintaining a direct, personal connection with those who choose to visit us.
We are open for lunch from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM and for dinner from 7:30 PM to 10:00 PM. We also welcome pilgrims and visitors traveling the Santa Barbara Trail who wish to experience Sardinian cuisine and take a break during their journey.
