Stage 07 – from Nuxis to Piscinas (long)

STAGE DESCRIPTION:

After visiting the caves, retrace your steps for about 500 m (asl) along the provincial road, then turn left onto a dirt track that passes by small rural settlements, often single-family.

Initially, the dirt road passes through the houses in the locality of Genniomus, then turns left to quickly go up and down and reach the farm called Cruccuruoni de Basciu.

From here, the route continues downhill until you reach the inhabited area of Is Cattas (09 m asl), and from here the dirt road climbs again, meeting the SP 70, which you join by turning left.

Follow the SP 70 for about 2 km until you reach a junction; take the right after passing the village of Is Carillus.

Take the comfortable dirt road heading west, starting to climb first to the Masoni de Susu farm and then reaching the highest point of the stage near Masoni de Monti (347 m asl).

Once near the Giants' Tomb of S’Arcu’e su Re, on private land, descend toward Nuraghe de Frois and shortly after reach the abandoned village of Su Rai.

After passing the abandoned village and crossing the small bridge over the Riu Piscinas, continue along the dirt track to approach the town of Piscinas from the south. Passing first near the nuraghe Corongiu Logus and then near the necropolis Cungiau de sa Tutti, you enter the town of Piscinas from the west.
