Museum of Peasant Civilization and Ancient Crafts

The Museum of Peasant Civilization and Ancient Crafts of Domusnovas preserves a now historical heritage of tools related to agricultural work and ancient crafts and serves as a testimony to a way of life in Sardinia, connected to rural traditions and their values, where the rhythms of daily life and work were closely linked to nature.

Among the ethnographic museums of Sulcis-Iglesiente, the museum holds an important position. It is housed in a building constructed according to a courtyard typology with a loggia, and hosts a collection of about 3000 tools related to peasant and agro-pastoral traditions and ancient crafts.

All the objects used for fieldwork are present, including a display of carts, plows, sowing tools, equipment for cheese, wine, and wool processing.

A visit to the museum is the right opportunity to rediscover our roots and take a leap into the past, where the elderly can mend the edges of their memories, while the young can learn about a world of life that has now disappeared.
