Path Description
The equestrian trail of the Cammino Minerario di Santa Barbara – Sant’Antioco Stage is a circular route that starts and ends at the locality of Canai. Here you’ll find Pozzo Canai, a site of great historical significance, and just 300 meters away, the Coaquaddus riding center. Setting off from the riding center, head south toward the Nuragic complex of “Grutti Acqua”, the first of many archaeological sites along this itinerary that offer a fascinating glimpse into the island’s ancient history. This initial stretch follows a paved road for just over one kilometer, after which you turn right onto an unpaved road leading to Cala Sapone. Along this section, you’ll come across the Giants’ tomb “Su niu ‘e su crobu”, and after about one more kilometer, you reach the Carolina Ranch, perfect for a short break. Leaving the ranch, turn left onto a picturesque coastal path. After crossing the municipal road of Cala Sapone, continue along a dirt track toward the Nuragic complex of “Corongiuali Murvonis”. Finally, follow the same road back to the locality of Canai, thus completing a delightful loop that combines nature, history, and breathtaking scenery.
