Path Description

The route variant from Iglesias to Monteponi allows you to shorten the first stage by 7 km, avoiding the climbs to Colle del Buon Cammino, Monte Casula, and the Cungiaus excavations: from Iglesias, you reach the Monteponi Mine by following Via Cattaneo (where the headquarters of the CMSB Foundation is located). At the beginning of this route, on the left, you can see the small church of Santa Barbara, built in 1910 by the Monteponi Company to encourage devotion to the patron saint of miners.
