Path Description
The Santa Barbara Mining Trail – Sant'Antioco Stage is a circular route that begins and ends in the town of Canai. Here, you'll find the Canai Well, a site of great historical interest, and just 300 meters away, the Coaquaddus riding stables. Starting from the stables, you continue south toward the "Grutti Acqua" nuragic complex, the first of many archaeological sites you can visit on this itinerary, offering a fascinating glimpse into the island's ancient history. This initial stretch is on a paved road; you follow it for just over a kilometer, then turn right onto a dirt road that leads to Cala Sapone. Along this stretch, you'll encounter the giants' tomb "Su niu 'e su crobu." After about 1 km, you'll reach the Carolina Ranch riding stables, ideal for a short break. After leaving the stables, you turn left onto a picturesque coastal path. After crossing the Cala Sapone municipal road, continue along a dirt road toward the Nuragic complex of "Corongiuali Murvonis." Finally, continue along the same road, returning to Canai, completing an enchanting loop that combines nature, history, and breathtaking views.
