Every day a new adventure, discovering the coasts of South-West Sardinia between nature and archaeology, on foot along the trails of the Mining Trail Of Saint Barbara.
In Sardinia, the days are pleasant almost all year round. Arriving at a cove or a beach, you can stop to rest or walk barefoot along the shoreline — small gestures that speak of a slower way of travelling, one in which the coast is breathed in, listened to, lived. Along the way, it's common to come across archaeological and industrial sites, which can be visited with the invaluable contribution of expert local guides.
With me, you can discover on foot the most beautiful stretches of coastline:
- Iglesiente, where cliffs open onto hidden coves, reachable only along the same trails once walked by the miners;
- Costa Verde, where granite valleys give way to endless beaches and dunes that look like mountains of sand.
Excursions can be single-day, meeting participants directly at the starting point, or become multi-day treks — mostly based at a fixed location — for those who want to get to know the coast one step at a time. In both cases, these are generally medium-level hiking routes, requiring adequate experience walking in unmarked terrain, on uneven ground, with elevation changes between 300 and 600 metres, as well as suitable clothing and equipment.
