Located at the entrance to the island of Sant’Antioco, the salt pans offer a unique landscape in which the history of salt extraction meets a rich lagoon ecosystem.
Accompanied by a local guide, you will ride along the tracks of the salt pans on a comfortable pedal-assist e-bike. Along the way you will be able to observe several species of waterbirds, including pink flamingos, and discover the stages of salt production, learning to tell the evaporation ponds from the crystallisation ponds, all the way to the large storage mounds.
The excursion ends at dusk, when the light of the sunset is reflected on the ponds and their waters change colour.
From November to March the tour runs on request only, and the start time varies depending on the period.
