In Buggerru, you will enter the heart of Galleria Henry, a tunnel carved into the rock in 1865 to connect the mining sites of Pranu Sartu and facilitate the transport of minerals. You will venture into this remarkable underground passage, stretching for approximately one kilometre, following the traces of an innovative transport system that, from 1892 onwards, used a steam locomotive and a railway network to replace the slow transport of minerals by pack animals.
During the visit, you will discover the different sections of the gallery and its ingenious network of connections, as the darkness of the underground alternates with the light filtering through openings in the cliff. Through these windows carved into the rock, you will admire the coastline plunging steeply into the sea and discover the landscape of Buggerru from an unusual perspective.
An experience where the history of mining work intertwines with the evocative atmosphere of the underground passages and the spectacular views of the Iglesiente coast.
